In May 2007, Blanco declared his departure from the band. He became a film and television actor. He also directed music videos, won an award for his work as an advertising musical arranger. Besides music and acting, Blanco is also into photography and paintings. Currently, he is the president of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. This line from the song Antukin serves as a tool for me to motivate myself. I started listening to bands when I was in third grade and I’ve always wanted to meet the members of Rivermaya and Eraserheads. Rico Blanco had always been my idol since he inspires me to appreciate OPM better. Listening to his music can lessen the stress and emotions I deal with everyday. Rico gives time and appreciation to his fans which makes him truly inspiring.
So, here’s a picture of me and Rico Blanco since I finally met him last September 23, 2016. He also signed my albums which actually removed all the anxiety from taking the entrance tests this month. Yay for meeting and talking to Rico Blanco!
